Get Indexed By Google Tips

Published on Wednesday, June 13th, 2007 | in the Google Category

Most of you know me primarily as an expert in Search Engine Marketing and Google being my main speciality. Well not all my marketing is done by using free resources. In some cases I use paid services, or I buy software to do the job for me.

Google is the big boy of free search engine traffic and I spend a lot of my day tweaking and changing sites to get the most free traffic from Google. Here are a few of the steps I take to get indexed by Google fast and to make sure my site/sites get as much traffic as possible.

  1. Submit your website sitemap to Google.

Googlebot flys all over the web looking for new content. Give Googlebot what they want and supply it with a Google verified Google sitemap. They are easy to make. I use a free script like GSiteCrawler  Use the script to make your Google sitemap and then head over to Google sitemaps If you don’t have an account with Google, you will need to open one first. This is a must do.

  2. Submit your site to an online market specific directory

Google loves authority sites. Sites that have a good reputation in a specific market. Find directories that match your market and submit you website to it. Check the html code behind the category page to make sure they don’t have any ‘nofollow" tags. If they do Google will not follow your link, thus not find your site. If the directory dosn’t have "nofollow" tags and the category has some Page Rank, submit your website making sure you use a keyword rich "title". A free piece of software you can use to make this process easy is from Brad Callen called Directory Submit. get yourself a copy and get to work. If your completely lazy and want to pay someone to do it for you, I can fully recommend the directory submission service at SeoShop

  3. Write 3 articles and submit them to Isnare

7% of all my traffic to Horse Racing Systems (a new niche site of mine) comes from article marketing. I write 3 articles a week about horse racing systems and software and then submit it to ISnare for distribution. Isnare is one of the few article submission sites I trust and i do get 100’s of uniques from articles I have sent to them. An article keyword optimised for your market not only attracts free traffic from readers but will also get Googles attention especially if all your hyperlinks are keywords specific to your site. So write 3 articles on your market. For example you have a website about cats, write 3 interesting articles about cat care and then submit them to ISnare

I use the http://www.isnare.com service and submit 1 new article every 3 days for 15 days.
